Seattle Seahawks and Russell Wilson failed to accomplish the mission they set their sights on this past week. It could have been one of the greatest season comebacks in the history of the NFL. To win seven back-to-back games as they dreamed about is no easy feat. After the loss against the Washington Football Team, they have sunken into a deeper hole.

The match against WFT at the FedEx Field was a close one. Until the first half, it was anybody’s game. Then it all came crashing down for Russell Wilson and the offense. After this loss, Seattle’s record is 3-8. Their chances to make the playoffs are next to none. The start of the game was action-packed. WFT scored a field goal in the opening minutes of the first quarter. But Seattle was quick to answer with a touchdown.

Untimely, it came down to the dying minutes of the game in which the Seahawks lost it all. Seattle scored a touchdown with just 15 seconds left on the clock. A brilliant 32-yard strike. But Kendall Fuller intercepted the two-point conversion throw by Russell Wilson. It saved the game for Washington.

Wilson struggling to perform

Ever since recovering and coming back from the finger injury, Wilson has not been the same. It has affected his game a lot. He cannot make throws like he used to. The talented receiver DK Metcalf did not receive a pass until there was a little over a minute remaining. He only has 57 combined yards in the last two games. Metcalf can turn any play into a touchdown, but he cannot do it alone.

Wilson has received widespread criticism for his performances recently. Colin Cowherd ripped into his every play. The founder of Volume Sports and an NFL analyst tweeted, “Russell Wilson made more poor decisions tonight than I can ever remember.” After a few more minutes of watching the game, he replied to his own tweet with, “How many times did he throw to the wrong receiver? And holding the ball and being pushed down late? He is off. Badly.” This clearly was not the birthday gift Wilson expected.

Russell Wilson made a lot of poor calls and decisions all throughout the game. He has been very off of his game recently. Maybe Wilson needs to take some time off.

Seattle’s offense has been deteriorating more and more every single week. It is the responsibility of the leader of the offense, the quarterback, to improve it. The Seattle Seahawks are most likely done for the season. Looking at their record, any realistic hope they had for making it to the playoffs is far gone. The Seahawks are currently at the bottom of the NFC West table, and they are very likely to finish the season in the same position.
