Colin Kaepernick, the former star quarterback of the 49ers, is making a football comeback, but with a twist. After his famous kneeling during the national anthem brought a severe backlash, no other team was willing to recruit him even for this season. Consequently, he has remained a free agent all this time. However, he remains steadfast in his journey and has become an activist-cum-advocate for social justice concerns.

Then in recent news, Kaepernick recently made a groundbreaking announcement that has shaken the NFL world. This announcement indicates his return, but in a digital form.

At the end of last month, the former QB made an announcement about an arcade-style football video game. Titled, ‘Wildcard Football’, it will be released on October 10 on almost all major platforms, from Nintendo Switch to even Windows PC. Whether players prefer consoles or PCs, they can choose and customize their players while enjoying fun power-ups to outperform their opponents. The game features a thrilling 7-on-7 throwdown, with flying saucers hovering above the field, creating barriers for players trying to reach the end zone.

Recent reports indicate that the former QB will be joined by hundreds of genuine pro players, however, it has yet failed to secure an NFL license. Furthermore, due to the game’s parent company, Saber, acquiring the NFL Player Association group license, they will be able to feature such players.

Kaepernick is reported to be joined by the Chiefs’ star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, along with several big names from the league, including the likes of Jalen Hurts, Aaron Donald, Joey Bosa, and numerous others. A trailer was also recently released of the game, with some positive feedback from the fans.
