Damar Hamlin recollects life-threatening NFL incident

The Bills’ safety player was at peak physical condition before he collapsed to the ground during a match with the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2. During the game, Hamlin collided with Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins during a tackle. The 25-year-old had stood up for a while after the tackle, but he then collapsed back on the field with a cardiac arrest.

Hamlin took to Twitter to share a tweet saying, “Today marked three months”. It has been three months since the scary incident occurred. When Hamlin collapsed, medical personnel rushed to the spot and started using CPR and a defibrillator to restart his heart. After 10 minutes of spot care, they rushed the player to the hospital, where he received proper medical attention and care. The sudden blow likely caused a cardiac arrest in the player, according to medical experts. But Hamlin has made an outstanding recovery in a short span of time from the incident.

Last Thursday, the Bills safety and his family had gone to the White House to visit President Joe Biden. During his visit to the White House, Hamlin opened up about his wish to return to play in the NFL again. Apart from this, during his visit to Washington DC, Hamlin urged the politicians to show their support for the Access to AEDs Act. Interestingly, this act will provide grants to schools and educational institutions to provide AED and CPR programs.
