Both have enjoyed considerable success in the NFL over the years. While both have a Super Bowl ring each, there is a man who has more rings than them combined. In fact, he has more than three times their combined total.

That quarterback is none other than Tom Brady. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB won his seventh ring last season to further stake his claim as the greatest to have played the sport.

But their overall abilities aside, there is one aspect of their game that Tom Brady is superior to when it comes to Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes. At least according to NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe.

Tom Brady trumps Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers

During a segment of Undisputed, Shannon Sharpe while debating with NFL analyst Skip Bayless over a poll claimed that the throwing mechanics of Aaron Rodgers isn’t one he’d teach young aspiring quarterbacks.

“Mechanics, no question. I would not teach a quarterback the mechanics of Aaron Rodgers because he throws a lot off his back foot and I’m like, ‘Bruh, how are you how you doing that?” said Sharpe.

When Bayless read out that Tom Brady was ranked first in terms of most fundamentally sound QB when it comes to throwing mechanics, Sharpe seemed to agree. He hinted that Mahomes’ gunslinger action as well one not being one that is fundamentally sound.

“The way Mahomes and Rodger throws a football, I’m not teaching that,” he said.

Rodgers’ and Mahomes’ styles are unique. They have their flaws, but they managed to execute the most breathtaking plays more often than not. So even if one doesn’t have the best throwing action, just getting the job done will get you places.
