The Lamar Jackson saga is one of the biggest ones of the 2023 off-season. The QB market, in this off-season, has is hot with some of the legendary passers joining the free agency. Rainn Wilson has his say on the Lamar Jackson saga

Actor Rainn Wilson is not happy with the way franchises are treating Lamar Jackson. According to him, a ‘winner’ like him should have many takers with the non-exclusive franchise tag. He even called out the teams who said they weren’t interested in the Ravens QB.

“Lamar Jackson is getting weirdly screwed by the NFL… collusion? Probably. Why would the Falcons, Panthers, Raiders & Commanders all say they weren’t interested, an hour after non-exclusive franchise tag? “Next level & a winner! They should be doing backflips to sign a long-term deal,” Wilson said in a tweet.

Many franchises like Las Vegas Raiders, Atlanta Falcons and Washington Commanders brushed aside the rumors of a trade for the QB. And even some sections of the fans feel that Jackson isn’t getting his due.

The contract conundrum

Jackson wants to stay in Baltimore and the Ravens want to sign him on a long-term deal. But both parties just cannot find a solution to do just that. Jackson played the 2022 season on the fifth-year option. And the Ravens have slapped a non-exclusive franchise tag to stop him from becoming a free agent after the season.

The QB wants a big-money contract with guaranteed money, just like the Cleveland Browns gave Deshaun Watson. But the Ravens are reluctant to do the same as they fear the former MVP’s injury record. He hasn’t finished the last two seasons and missed the playoffs along with the last four regular season games this time. That is where the negotiations are stuck.

Will someone come in to take Jackson, with so many teams looking for a QB? Or will the Ravens have their way in this matter?
