During the Cowboys’ disastrous season opener game, Dak Prescott suffered a thumb injury. With the QB1 down, the chances of snapping their decades-long losing streak might remain a dream. Jerry Jones unequivocally stated the quarterback position
Jerry Jones mentioned, “I think [Cooper] Rush is up to the task of winning ball games for us, and I think he certainly has had a lot of experience in this offense. He and Kellen Moore have been joined at the hip for a long time. So, I like who we’re lining up out there to give us a start right there… Dak is one of the best there is at finding the open guy and going to the right guy. Rush can do it, too.”

The Kingpin also disclosed that the Cowboys would not send Dak Prescott on injured reserve. A player who is on injured reserve must miss at least four games. This decision suggested that Jones will have a different timeframe for the QB1’s return to the game.

Jerry Jones Makes Biblical Statement to Reassure Disheartened Dallas Cowboys Fans of Super Bowl Hopes After Being Smashed by Tom Brady and Buccaneers
Jones vows the Cowboys won’t look outside the franchise for a QB if Cooper Rush stumbles. The fallback QB will lead the offense till Prescott is back.
Does that mean Jimmy G and Kap are out?
Cooper Rush is back on the page, and Jones is selling positivity over Prescott’s fast rehabilitation. Now, one speculation can easily rest in peace. When the Dallas Cowboys made some cuts to manage the 53-man-roster, they laid QBs Cooper Rush and Will Grier off the roster. It also gave rise to some speculations of Jimmy Garoppolo and Colin Kaepernick packing their stuff for Dallas.

Don't be alarmed. It's roster manipulation at the moment to be prepared for moves to come over the next few days. They can have a wink-wink deal with Rush since he's a vested vet. Grier would be back if unclaimed as well.

However, Rush is back, and the franchise will not look out for the franchise. Todd Archer’s prediction came out to be true. It could indicate that Jerry Jones will not consider getting in any of the available QBs. Jimmy G will remain a backup in the 49ers while the Colin Kaepernick media hype is now in the dust.
