Following a saga that took over 6 months to conclude, the Commanders are finally separated from Daniel Snyder. During his time with the Commanders, he’s been at odds with different constituencies over multiple things.

Snyder’s attitude and the controversies that surrounded him seemingly left him no friends in the NFL. Which has since resulted in the axe swinging in one fall ending his 20-year stay. Following the latest developments surrounding the change in ownership, an investigative reporter reveals two reasons why Snyder was shown the door.

Washington Commanders host the worst stadium in the league

Following the exit of Daniel Snyder and his wife Tanya from the Washington outfit earlier this week, many reasons have been speculated that brought about their eventual exit. One man has come forward sharing his insights as to what could have cost Snyder his stake in the Commanders.

On the ‘Rich Eisen Show’, ESPN’s investigative reporter Don Van Natta Jr. spoke about the two reasons. While conversing with Rich, he states, “A big reason when it comes to the way the NFL owners view him is he has been costing them money. That is a big no no among the membership, his team has been last in attendance in the NFL the last couple of years.” After continuous poor seasons for the Commanders, the state of the franchise has been dwindling, the same can be said about their stadium.

Natta Jr. goes on to add, “The FedEx Field is ranked the worst stadium in the league, it’s crumbling. Schneider can’t get a new stadium, he ran out of options to try to build back this once storied franchise and so that’s the other reason he’s been shown the door.” In his 20 years in the NFL, Snyder’s accords and behavior have resulted in few friends willing to have his back. The situation with the Commanders in-house is another reason why has driven Snyder out of the building.

Controversies engulfed former owner Dan Snyder

As the two were discussing the predilections of what and why and how the situation has unfolded, Natta Jr. added the other reason for the state of affairs for the Commanders.

He spoke, “He has led a toxic workplace, has embarrassed his fellow owners. There are sexual misconduct allegations still ongoing that are being investigated by Mary Jo White.” That’d not be all from Natta Jr. as he would further shed light on the controversies the Commanders have faced.

He adds, “He just caused a lot of heartburn to the members…..He was actually free and clear last October. And yet he was one of the people responsible for those John Gruden email leaks which woke up Congress. It was a congressional investigation launch just a week after those leaks. And that led to even more allegations there’s a federal criminal investigation about financial improprieties going on in Virginia.”

His tenure at the Commanders saw him alienate many of his fellow owners. This ultimately meant, not many would put up a fight for Snyder during the sale.
