His entire football career was illustrious, beginning with his selection by the New England Patriots in the 2000 NFL draft, a surprising choice at pick 16. While his football career was phenomenal, his personal life didn’t quite match up to the same level of beauty.

Before marrying the supermodel Gisele Bündchen, he underwent a rocky situation with her during the early stages and honeymoon phase of their love story. In a recent interview, Gisele revealed a dark side of their relationship that could have potentially caused turbulence in their otherwise happy union.

The “public announcement” stole the smile from Gisele’s face

During an interview with Vanity Fair a couple of months ago, Gisele Bündchen candidly shared her love story with Brady, including a significant event that caused turbulence in their relationship. Brady and Gisele met each other on a blind date and soon started dating each other. However, the trouble occurred during the couple’s honeymoon phase, just one day before the news broke publicly. Brady informed Bündchen that his ex-girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan, was pregnant, revealing that they were expecting their first child together. She said it was “a challenging situation for all of us.”

This revelation could have led to an early breakup for many women, but Bündchen considered the situation and made a mature decision to stay with Brady, accepting his first child as a bonus in their lives. When Brady and Moynahan’s son, Jack, was born in 2007, Bündchen embraced him as her “bonus child.” She expressed, “Jack came into our lives and I felt so blessed and it kind of awakened in me this desire of being a mom.” Although Gisele had desired to become a mother, she acknowledged that it happened a little faster than she had anticipated. However, Gisele did not prefer to be referred to as a stepmom by Brady’s first child, Jack, as their relationship went beyond the bounds of blood.

During an Instagram Q&A session a few years ago, Gisele Bündchen candidly expressed her joy in being a stepmom to Tom Brady’s first son, Jack, whom he shares with actress Bridget Moynahan. When a fan asked her about her experience as a stepmom, Bündchen shared that she loves every aspect of it, except for the official term itself. Instead, she prefers to use the term “bonus mom” because she sees it as a blessing in her life. She considers herself fortunate to have this additional, wonderful little angel in her life.

She said that she immediately felt connected to Jack and added, “I feel so lucky that I got to have an extra, wonderful little angel in my life.” Brady and Moynahan were in a two-year relationship before deciding to end it in December 2006. Shortly after their breakup, Brady began a relationship with Gisele Bündchen. They eventually got married in February 2009. Together, they have two children, Vivian and Benjamin Brady, in addition to Jack, Brady’s son from his previous relationship.
