Walter Payton is one of the greatest players ever to grace the game. He had an illustrious career and will forever live in the hearts of all his fans. Notably, the city of Chicago can never forget him and his contribution to their team.

Unfortunately, in 1999, Payton passed away at 45 years old. His legacy still lives to this day, and his son celebrated his father’s 68th birth anniversary with a post on his Twitter account.

In his post, the son of Walter Payton, Jarrett Payton, posted a video of the highlights of his father. In the caption, he wrote, You’re the best to ever do it. We miss you but your legacy lives on through #Bears fans that pass your sweetness spirit down from generation to generation.”

Jarrett Payton also posted a picture of his father with Michael Jordan under the highlights. Both Jordan and Payton were iconic figures in the city of Chicago. They put the city on the map for their respective sports, and their memories will be cherished forever.

Walter Payton had a great career

Walter Payton played 13 seasons in the NFL for the Chicago Bears. He is considered among the greatest players to play football. He won the Super Bowl with the Bears in 1986. They defeated the New England Patriots in that Super Bowl. It is the only Super Bowl win in the franchise history to this date.

During the course of his career, Payton had 3,838 carries for 16,726 yards, 492 catches for 4,538 yards, and scored 125 touchdowns. He was selected to play in 9 Pro Bowls.
