A million-dollar nightmare

For most of the NFL world, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ wild wildcard comeback was an enthralling experience. Only the Chargers fans would disagree with this statement. But for one ambitious man, the game turned into a million-dollar nightmare.

After the Jaguars came from behind to beat the Chargers, Action Network Reporter Darren Rovell tweeted that a man had lost $1.4 million due to his bet on a Chargers victory.

The unnamed person placed the bet when Justin Herbert and Co were up by 27 points. The man might have thought that it would be the easiest bet he could place. But he surely wasn’t ready for what Trevor Lawrence had in store.

And who could blame the man? Lawrence had already thrown no less than four interceptions in the game. There is no way that a team can come back after such a debacle. But there indeed was a way. The way of the Jaguars from Jacksonville.

The way of the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars posted one of the most unlikely comebacks in NFL history to book a place in the AFC divisional playoffs. Down 0-27, almost everybody counted them out of the game. And it would have been a blowout. But some believed in them. Most importantly, they believed in themselves.

The Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence, who threw four interceptions in the first half, came out for the second a different man. And he and his offense started climbing the insurmountable mountain while his defense dug their heels to keep the summit in sight. And by the end of the game, Lawerence had 288 passing yards and four touchdown passes. The Jaguars had scaled the summit with a 31-30 win, sending the NFL world into a frenzy.
