Aaron Rodgers must love the thriller genre in movies, scripting his next phase in the NFL accordingly. With the Green Bay Packers‘ return looking far off, Rodgers’ main point of contemplation at the moment is between retirement and New York. And he kept a former Jets athlete hanging recently with his answer.

Former New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall caught up with the four-time Super Bowl champion at the RX Flag Football Charity Event in California’s Laguna Beach for a much-anticipated episode of his podcast ‘I Am Athlete’. And Brandon couldn’t get a lot out of A-Rod.

Aaron Rodgers is a master of controlling his emotions

You don’t get to be the Super Bowl XLV MVP if you don’t display an extreme grip on your nerves and emotions. And Aaron Rodgers was under considerable pressure with Brandon’s invasive trade questions. However, he didn’t disappoint.

On being asked about how his recent meetings with the Jets went, Rodgers said, “It’s always interesting meeting important figures in the sport. It’s always interesting. That’s all I’m giving. Stay tuned.” Marshall asked what every fan and analyst in the NFL world would have asked. “How long?

Well, I think it won’t be long. There’s a time limit for all this,” the quarterback said, clearly referring to the March 15 free agency deadline for NFL teams to get their limit under the official $224.8 million salary cap.

Brandon tried to make the deal more exciting and said Rodgers has the opportunity to become an all-time Jet, with the success he can achieve in the Gang Green. “Not if you play for one year, you can’t be an all-time Jet. Organizations have history. It’s about the people that made those organizations,” Rodgers replied, hinting at a possible one-year deal.

The Jets are trying their best to get Rodgers

On being asked about his future New York locality, Aaron said he has only been to Brooklyn and had yet to go check out the Tribeca neighborhood. And looks like Woody Johnson and the Jets have made quite an impression on Rodgers. The organization’s top brass flew out to Malibu, California, this week to chat and dine with Rodgers. According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Jets ownership “left the meeting excited and satisfied about the potential match.”

A-Rod will bring his $31 million cap hit for the Jets if he gets on the Broadway-bound road. And New York is already making arrangements to accommodate their potential future No. 12. The Jets cleared around $15.1 million in cap space this week by restructuring deals for Laken Tomlinson, D. J. Reed, and Tyler Conklin.

The Gang Green players are also doing their part. Besides the regular nudging on social media, Sauce Gardner, Bryce Hall, and Garrett Wilson recently even performed black magic to get A-Rod in the pocket. And the NFL world will know something for sure this week.
