Elon Musk and his reign on Twitter have been pretty interesting so far. After buying it for a whopping $43.2 billion in October last year, users of his social media app have seen many changes being implemented after the arrival of the world’s richest man. The blue tick, which was a sign of authenticity and verification on Twitter, has gone to become a $8 dollar subscription model. During his mission to remove the verification badge from the profiles who have not taken up the subscription, Patrick Mahomes was also a victim. But he got his back shortly after tweeting out to Elon Musk. And his recent experiment of limiting the number of posts that can be viewed by verified and non-verified accounts also received a lot of criticism from many people, including various sports athletes.

And it’s not just the changes in the app that took place after Musk’s acquisition. Twitter also underwent a massive layoff. They cut almost 80 percent of the staff off from their jobs. And now, a video once again resurfaces, where Elon Musk justifies the decision of firing so many employees working in the social media company.

After buying Twitter, almost 6,000 employees were laid off from their jobs, according to Elon Musk during an interview with BBC. He stated that the company now has only 1,500 active employees, which is almost an 80 percent cut in the workforce. This decision was taken because, according to Musk, the company was facing “a $3 billion negative cash flow situation.” And now, another video where he tries to justify the layoffs has emerged once again.

In a YouTube short posted online, we see American commentator Tucker Carlson question Elon Musk about how he plans to run a company “with only 20 percent of the staff?” Musk first stated that “you don’t need that many people to run Twitter.” Further explaining the layoffs, he said, “If you’re not trying to run some sort of glorified activist organization, and you don’t care that much about censorship, then you can really let go a lot of people, turn out.” This left Carlson bursting out in laughter at the justification given by the world’s richest man.

While the Twitter layoffs took place a few months ago, ESPN has been making headlines after the recent massive layoffs taking place in their own company. And one of the victims of the layoffs was former NFL QB Steve Young, who now has another job after being cut from the network.

Steve Young finds another job

Back in February, Disney, the parent company of ESPN, announced that around 7,000 employees will be fired from the company. They took this decision as a measure of cutting down costs borne. And as a part of these layoffs, many in-house names such as Keyshawn Johnson, Jalen Rose, and others lost their jobs. And one of those big names was analyst Steve Young. Young played as a QB for the San Francisco 49ers back in the 90s and led them to win three Super Bowl championships. After retiring from the game, he was working as an ESPN analyst for almost two decades, before being a victim of the layoff mission. But Young already has a new job in place. He’s going to be the assistant coach under fellow 49ers QB John Payne. Young will be in California, where he will help coach the Menlo Girls Flag Football Team.
