There just couldn’t be anyone more upset over the Aaron Rodgers trade to the NY Jets than the quarterback’s former left tackle and BFF, David Bakhtiari. Even after a month of Rodgers joining the Gang Green camp, the Green Bay Packers offensive lineman still feels the blues. However, Bakhtiari may be slowly moving on as his recent tweet brought up some sour memories from the 2022 season. Despite trying to underplay Rodgers’ errors, the fans in the comment section were quick to point out that Bakhtiari may be better off without his longtime QB1.

This week has already seen its fair share of explosive interviews. Aaron Rodgers sat down with The Athletic to discuss everything that went wrong with his 18-year relationship with the Packers this offseason, exposing the franchise in a major way. And Bakhtiari could have retorted to this hit job with his own hilarious take on Twitter.

Best friend Bakhtiari won’t really miss Aaron Rodgers until the regular season kicks off in September. Currently going through the Packers’ organized training activities, Bakhtiari doesn’t feel his former quarterback’s absence since Rodgers wasn’t too keen about OTAs. However, he did tag Rodgers in a tweet yesterday to remind him of what he was missing out on.

This could be us, Aaron Rodgers. But you playing,” Bakhtiari captioned a tweet of him catching a dummy end zone pass from a Packers teammate. However, the comment section wasn’t so receptive to Bakhtiari’s wishful thinking.

Nah, he under-threw you by 5 yards wide open in the end zone in Detroit. Love would never,” one fan commented. And Bakhtiari replied with a brutal Rodgers roast.5 yards is being nice,” the OT replied, probably implying that the pass was off by more than just that.

Should’ve used that play as leverage to keep the golf cart,” another comment said, referring to Bakhtiari’s custom-made Aston Martin golf cart gift to his Super Bowl XLV MVP passer.

The play in question took place during the Week 9 clash against divisional rivals Detroit Lions. Aaron Rodgers’ lobbed pass from 4th and goal reached nowhere close to Bakhtiari before being intercepted by Lions’ rookie Aidan Hutchinson. The 4x NFL MVP set a personal career worst of 3 interceptions during that game. And looks like the Cheeseheads have had a tough time forgetting that harrowing night.

Bakhtiari let his true feelings known after the OTAs

Jokes aside, it can’t be easy for Bakhtiari to lose a longtime friend and teammate. However, the veteran understands how the league works. “This is another guy that’s gone. It’s a business. You should never forget that,” he said during the OTA press meet. For now, Bakhtiari’s focus remains on the Lombardi Trophy journey with his new quarterback Jordan Love. “I just want to win. I’ve been around the block enough times. And I want to win,” No 69 added.
