Earlier this month, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin was hospitalized after suffering a cardiac arrest on the field. After a tackle from Cincinnati Bengals‘ WR Tee Higgins, the 24-year-old was in critical condition. Fortunately, the player has been doing very well in the past weeks and has been on the road to recovery. Last Sunday, the safety even showed up to the Bills’ divisional game against the Bengals to cheer for Josh Allen and his teammates.

However, his appearance gave rise to a rather bizarre conspiracy theory. Many fans online were speculating that the person who was in the stadium was actually a clone and not the real Damar. After hearing the theories and how the media has been pushing them, Allen was quick to debunk this notion of an ill-conceived idea.

Josh Allen dismisses the Damar Hamlin theory

Fans were excited about the news of Hamlin being in the building for a Bills game. The safety sported a hooded jacket with a scarf and sunglasses which concealed much of his face. Apart from the extremely cold weather and the constant snowfall, some fans put on a tinfoil hat and started sharing how they thought that this person was not Damar himself. They further stated that it very well might be a clone put in place by the NFL to boost media perceptions.

QB Josh Allen was asked about this news by Kyle Brandt during his appearance on his show. The player was quick to debunk this theory. “Yeah, that’s stupid,” Allen explained. “One; That’s Damar’s swag, that’s what he likes, like wearing that. Two; He was in the locker room with us pregame, so yes, that was Damar. There’s absolutely zero chance. That’s the damar Hamlin that’s our guy, that’s our brother. He was with us pregame, post-game. He was up in the suite with his family, his little brother 100%. So, people need to stop it. Stop this sh*t,” he added.

Hamlin himself could not stay away from having a little fun with this. He shared a photo of himself in the same outfit standing alongside his mural on Twitter. He further added the caption, “Clone” in order to have a little fun.

Unfortunately, for the Bills Mafia, Clone or not, their season was over after a disappointing loss to the Bengals. Joe Burrow led a calculated offense to book the second consecutive AFC game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
