Patrick Mahomes, being one of the most talented quarterbacks of his generation, has a lot to do with the super genes he inherited from his namesake MLB pitcher father. Now, it seems like the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is transferring some of those athletic genes and throwing prowess down to the next generation. Patrick’s wife, Brittany, recently showed the couple’s daughter, Sterling Skye Mahomes, on her IG story, trying to emulate the greats and follow in Daddy’s footsteps.

Sterling was in full hoop mode at a Kansas City basketball court with her parents, Patrick and Brittany. Despite missing the initial shot from a distance, Sterling surprised her parents and viewers with what a good deal may call a ‘grown-girl’s jam’.

Animal sanctuaries and zoos are Sterling’s favorite touring spots. Skye even made the trip this year during her second birthday celebrations. However, she didn’t have half a bad time at the basketball court, even letting out a shriek of joy after taking a three-pointer attempt. As per the Instagram stories of Brittany, Patrick shot a trial throw, while Sterling gathered the ball for her second attempt. And this second shot was ferocious.

Sterling closed in the paint and slammed the ball for a dunk, leading to explosive cheers from Brittany and Patrick. Surely, the family can already start tracking Skye’s progress years before a potential WNBA debut.

This is no strange occurrence. Patrick’s athletic genes aren’t the only ones that his two children are blessed with. Brittany Mahomes was also a professional soccer player before hanging it up to be a mother to Bronze and Skye. So, are the two Mahomes kids destined for sporting greatness? However, whatever they decide, he doesn’t want to force anything on his kids.

Pat doesn’t want to play any part in deciding his kids’ future

Kids of athletes often take to the same field as their fathers or mothers. Patrick Mahomes was a three-sport athlete in school. However, instead of following his father’s MLB fame, the quarterback decided to carve out his fortunes in the NFL. Randi and Pat’s support for that decision was crucial for Patrick. And he wants to follow the exact game plan when it comes to his own kids.

Patrick doesn’t want anything to do with their future ambitions and wants them to do what makes them happy. PM15 is really the quintessential modern father. It seems Sterling has some of that basketball genes, regardless. And safe to say, the couple’s youngest child, Bronze, won’t escape the sporting bug either, once he is of age.
