The highlight of his conversation was an anecdote involving his father. For the first 12 years of his NFL career, Eli was signed to Reebok. So his family had access to Reebok’s catalog. One day, after reaching home, Eli’s father excitingly shared his new “Gunnit” shoes. Eli, confused, inspected the shoes only to realize that he meant 50 Cent’s G-Unit Reeboks. THROWBACK: When Eli’s Sneakers were hidden by Giants great Phil Simms

If there is one thing Eli loves more than sneakers, it’s pulling pranks. Eli was a known prankster back in his playing days. Fed up with his antics, New York Giants‘ Phil Simms decided to take the matter into his own hands. He decided to pull a prank on the prankster.

Phil Simms went to the Giants locker room and straight up stole Eli’s sneakers. Manning was obviously terrified knowing his beloved sneakers have been stolen until he read the note left by Phil Simms –“Hey Eli, I needed a pair of shoes, so I borrowed your white tennis shoes. Thanks, Phil Simms.”
