‘Superman’ QB Patrick Mahomes, Known for Surreal Throws and Impossible Comebacks, Answers Intense Question About Aaron Rodgers, Showcasing His Humble Side

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is already among the few youngsters who are projected to have an all-time great career in the NFL. Interestingly, the 26-year-old equals Aaron Rodgers, who is already a veteran, in terms of Super Bowl victories. Both have one ring to their name, despite Rodgers playing for 17 seasons in the National Football League.
But these records don’t seem to determine the parameters required for comparing him with the Green Bay Packers QB. While speaking in a Q&A session online, the Chiefs signal-caller explained how he gets inspired by Rodgers’ hall of fame-worthy career.

With just five years into the National Football League, the Texas native bagged a Super Bowl ring and recorded back-to-back playoff appearances. Recently, Mahomes went undercover on the internet and answered some cheeky questions posted by football fans through social media.
For the question of whether Patrick Mahomes winning one more Super Bowl in his career will put him above Aaron Rodgers for all time, the Texas Tech alumnus responded smartly.
“I don’t know if a lot of people remember the beginning of Aaron Rodgers’ career, but I mean, he went to the Super Bowl and made a lot of the same and more throws than I made,” Mahomes said.

“He’s one of the best of all time….He’s someone that I take a lot of stuff from. So, to me, I’m just trying to get somewhere close by the end of my career where he is. So to be around that by the end of my career that would be the goal,” he added to his explanation.
Patrick Mahomes draws inspiration from Aaron Rodgers since college
It’s quite natural for college players to seek motivation and techniques from senior NFL athletes. Interestingly, since his college days, Patrick Mahomes revealed that he used to analyze Rodgers’ games, his techniques, and his way of playing the ball, which is unique to him. “I remember being in college and coach (Kliff) Kingsbury making me watch Aaron Rodgers. Watch how he plays the game…” Mahomes said during the last off-season’s training camps. Statistically, Rodgers has recorded more passing yards than Mahomes. He boasts of several NFL records, including the one he posted with a 122.5 passer rating.

Moreover, the Packers’ QB has the lowest interception percentage of 1.3% in his entire career. It will be interesting to see how much either of them will shine when the duo faces off for a preseason game on the 26th of August this year.
