Bruce Arians-coached Tampa Bay Buccaneers exceeded expectations in 2020. The NFC South-based franchise pulled off a remarkable 9-31 win over defending champions Kansas City Chiefs to lift the Super Bowl LV title earlier this year. The Bucs managed to hold on to their key players in the build-up to the 2021 season, including star quarterback Tom Brady.

The veteran shot-caller penned an extension to his pre-existing deal. Brady was influential once again as the Bucs started their title defense with a thrilling 29-31 win over NFC East old boys, Dallas Cowboys. The former New England Patriots man finished that game with 379 passing yards and 4 passing touchdowns, connecting with Rob Gronkowski on two occasions.

However, the one stat that Tom Brady will not be happy with is the number of interceptions thrown in Week 1. More on that below.

Tom Brady highlights the one NFL stat that keeps him up at night

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady featured on a pre-game chat show earlier this month alongside teammates, Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski. The 3-time NFL MVP spoke about the one game stat that doesn’t let him get a good night’s sleep – interceptions.

“So what is one stat that I care most about? It’s interceptions thrown. I do not like throwing an interception. So if I’m gonna think about one thing after a game is whether or not I don’t care about 9000 touchdowns in the game, but the one pick, I’m gonna be pissed at night so that that irritates me more than anything,” Brady said on the Buccaneers pregame chat show.

Brady was at his dominant best against the Cowboys. He will be disappointed that he threw 2 interceptions, completing 32 of his 50 attempted passes on the night. It will be interesting to see if the Bucs can build on this win as they aim to defend their Super Bowl title in 2021.
