Derrick Henry Reveals How Many Receiving Yards He Needs to Win MVP Award

Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans ended their 2020 NFL campaign on a sour note. After winning the AFC South crown with an 11-5 record, coach Mike Vrabel’s boys suffered a 13-20 loss to the Lamar Jackson-led Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card Round earlier this year.
Despite a disappointing end to their 2020 NFL campaign, there were several positives to take away for the Titans.
Henry, in particular, had a historic season at running back. He became the 8th running back in NFL history to surpass 2,000 rushing yards. King Henry was also adjudged as the NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2020.

The 27-year-old was in the running for last year’s NFL MVP title as well. However, that award was eventually bestowed upon Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Florida-born athlete Derrick Henry was the latest guest on the Barstool Sports show, Bussin With The Boys. The Titans running back spoke about his NFL MVP snub and further added that he needs to add some receiving yards to his resume in order to challenge for major honors in the years to come.

“I’m rushing and I have the receiving yards to go with it, it’ll probably put me higher in the conversation to probably come close to getting an award….

“I would probably need like 500. If I go 2000 again and I don’t win it, that’s disrespectful,” Henry said on the popular show.
The former 2nd-round pick has finished the last 2 seasons as the NFL rushing yards leader. He will be expected to continue with that scintillating run when the season starts later this year.
