Ever since CJ Gardner Johnson’s departure from the Eagles, AJ Brown has emerged as the best ‘Tweeter’ on the team. Brown, just like his character on the field, enjoys banter, engaging in everything to anything. Whether it’s the Eagles releasing Darius Slay or JuJu Smith-Schuster posting a TikTok video, Brown has a response for everything.

The former Titans wide receiver was acquired by the Eagles back in 2022 and has since been an integral part of the team, making an appearance for the coveted Super Bowl game. With the ongoing offseason, a lot of NFL players have taken to recruiting some of the best talents in the league. A fan, in particular, felt that Brown should be doing the same, but turns out that’s not how Brown rolls.

Reportedly, Tennessee Titans have asked their superstar safety, Kevin Byard, to take a pay cut. Since then, Byard has refused these demands, and although negotiations are underway, his time with the Titans might be over. The Titans are definitely going to hold on to Byard until June-1, as releasing him earlier would cost $13.6 million in the dead cap while creating a measly $5.9 million in space.

If the same thing is done post-June, the Titans would save themselves $14.1 million while spreading out Byard’s dead cap charges across 2023 and 2024.

Byard is well respected in the league, and teams are expected to line up for him. Moreover, other prominent NFL players would certainly try and reach out.

A fan asked a similar thing of the Eagles WR AJ Brown, “Yo, @1kalwaysopen_, are you recruiting @KevinByard to Philly yet? lol

Seems like Brown was prepared with an answer as he responded with, “Im not . I play wide receiver and that’s above my pay grade. Both of them guys my potnas. Too wish washy for me .

Brown made it clear that he obviously shares a friendly relationship with Kevin Byard, but refused to intervene in his decision-making process. While the tussle between Byard and Titans continues, Brown seems to be having a blast trolling and making cheeky comments on social media.

Is Byard a perfect fit?

The Eagles would have to overcome some challenges to sign Kevin Byard. While they certainly have the draft capital to trade for Byard, his enormous salary of $13.6 million could be a hindrance.

Byard’s skills could also mesh well with the Philadelphia team. Being a playmaking safety who has picked off at least 4 passes in 7 of his NFL seasons, the First-Team All-Pro’s talents could potentially translate well in an Eagles uniform.

From a realistic standpoint, even if the Titans do decide to let Byard walkway, it would still be a pipe dream for him to end up in Philly.
