Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow have ignited the age-old debate within the NFL community. When former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer chose Burrow over the Chiefs QB, former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marcus Spears could not bear it. He had a simple message for Palmer.
“I would rather Carson Palmer and anybody else just say they prefer the way Joe Burrow plays football, because saying that Joe Burrow is better than Patrick Mahomes, that’s dumb,” Spears said on ESPN’s NFL Live.

Palmer had earlier said that he feels Burrow is more consistent than Mahomes and can run the system better.
“I know Patrick (Mahomes) is phenomenal, but I just think Joe’s more consistent. He’s more consistent. He’s more accountable to run the system,” Palmer had expressed his opinion.

Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow have created this new-age rivalry that has become a staple in the AFC in the last couple of seasons. The Chiefs QB came into the NFL in 2017 while the Bengals QB made it in 2020. So Mahomes is the one with the better experience. The duo has met in the AFC championship game twice in a row in the last two seasons and share one victory each at that stage.
Mahomes has had a better overall record of the two with two Super Bowl titles. He has also led the Chiefs to three AFC championship titles in the last four years. Burrow, on the other hand, has had just one Super Bowl appearance, the only year in the last four when the Chiefs didn’t make the cut.
