The Commanders ran off as 12-7 winners over the Bears and Wentz played a relatively decent game. But it was the press conference after the game that became the highlight of the day. Rivera went on a rant during the press conference in defense of his quarterback and said he was fully on board with the trade, refuting any suggestions otherwise.

“Everybody wants to keep saying I didn’t want to do anything with Carson, well bulls*it. I’m the f*ckin’ guy that pulled out the sheets of paper, that looked at the analytics, that watched the tape, and the freaking when we were in Indianapolis. OKAY!” Rivera said. “And that’s what pisses me off because the young man doesn’t deserve to have that all the time. I’m sorry, I’m done,” he added before storming off the stage and leaving the press conference midway. There have been murmurs in the media that the Commanders’ coach is not happy with his QB.

Wentz completed the game despite being apparently injured, although the QB struggled a bit. He recorded just 99 passing yards and did not throw a single touchdown pass. Wentz completed 12 of 22 passes in the game with a 66.3 passer rating. None of his passes were intercepted.

The Washington Commanders have just two wins after 6 games and sit at the bottom of the NFC East table. All the other teams in the division are 4-1 or better. This is a cause of concern for Washington, although they still have a good amount of games to script a comeback. The Commanders will next take on the Green Bay Packers in their next game.
