Legendary NFL TE Rob Gronkowski recently announced his retirement after coming back to Tampa in 2020 at the behest of one Tom Brady. Gronk, after the 2021 season, wasn’t sure whether he will return to football. NFL world was up in debates, and many seemed to be sure about his return to Tampa Bay in 2022.

Former Baltimore Ravens QB, Robert Griffin III, was quite confident and placed an insane bet on Rob Gronkowski‘s comeback. RG3, on his Twitter account, wrote, “I’m so confident Gronk will come out of retirement when [Tom Brady] calls later in the season, that I will jump in the East River this winter if he doesn’t.”

RG3 thinks Gronkowski has retired, but he will make a comeback in the middle of the season. Griffin III says Tom Brady will talk him out of retirement like he did the last time. He said he will jump into the East River this winter if Gronk didn’t make a comeback.

Is Robert Griffin III serious about jumping into the East River if Rob Gronkowski did not make a comeback?

RG3, replying to Eisen, said“Yeah, Rich. I was told shortly thereafter that, you know, there’s a chance that, if I jumped into the East River, I could walk out a couple of inches taller, maybe have an extra toe or foot? So I’m really like, I’m praying every night. ‘Please, God, let Rob Gronkowski come back, so I don’t have to jump into the East River in the winter.’ But I will stay true to my word. And if he does not come back, I’ll jump in the East River.”

Robert Griffin III is well aware of the challenge he has taken up and says he will keep his word. He has been told about the East River, which is one of the most polluted rivers in the country. Griffin can now only pray about Gronkowski making a comeback in the NFL.

Now, as Brady has come out of his retirement, there was reason to believe that he will want Gronk to play on his side. But the TE had other plans. If during the season, Gronk plays, then well and good. But if he doesn’t, it will leave Griffin III regretful for his twitter decisions.
