Clarification by Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill clarified his stance in a recent interview. He said that he never meant to say that his new QB is better than his old QB. “A lot of people took that as I was saying, ‘Oh [Tua’s] better than Patrick Mahomes.’ I never said that. We all know Mahomes is playing a different ball game than everybody. The guy’s an alien,” Hill said.
The WR then clarified the basis of his statement. Hill said that when he watched Tagovailoa in 2020, the Dolphins QB had no stars to throw the ball to. But he still did his job pretty well.“We played against Tua in 2020, Miami versus Chiefs, and I had a chance to watch him sling the ball. And he was completing passes to guys who are, you know, not [stars]. He didn’t have Jaylen Waddle at the time. I was like, ‘This guy can sling the ball.’ I already had that memory in my head.” Hill clarified.
Tagovailoa leads the league in the QB passer rating this season and now he has a strong outlet in the Cheetah to throw the ball to. Maybe fans see the real potential of Tua this season that prompted praise from the ex-teammate of Patrick Mahomes.
A comparison
The Chiefs and the Dolphins have had a pretty similar season so far. Both teams have won 6 of their games till game week nine. The difference is that the Dolphins have played nine games while the Chiefs have taken the field eight times.
