This year’s Super Bowl LVII turf isn’t any typical one either.

The Super Bowl LVII’s slippery turf was no ordinary

The Super Bowl LVII turf may have complaints about being slippery. But it took a lot of effort, modern technology, and science to develop the variety of Bermudagrass called Tahoma 31. The league spent two years developing the special grass grown at a sod farm in Phoenix, which cost $800,000.

The Arizona Cardinals’ home field is exceptional because the playing surface is on a massive, rolling track. Since the unique grass was installed two weeks ago, they have rolled the surface outside the stadium. It has unfettered access to Arizona’s sunshine. However, the turf seems to become a banana peel in the NFL’s biggest games.
