Will Cam Newton start at the Patriots?
Many believe that there’s no way Belichick would choose someone else to start when he has a three-time Pro Bowler at his disposal. However, the opposing faction backs Jarret Stidham to take the field ahead of Newton.

Stidham’s tenure and experience with the Patriots is something that experts tout as his strongest weapon against Newton. He becomes an asset for the New England franchise as he is already familiar with Bill Belichick’s style of play. In addition, the New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator Josh Mcdaniels too understands Stidham fully.
In this regard, Newton has just arrived at the club. And because of the ongoing pandemic, he hasn’t been able to meet his team personally.

In his show ‘Skip and Shannon: Undisputed‘, Bayless said, “I disagree with your premise here. Because I respect Cam for who he is, and again, he was not a problem. He’s not an off-the-field problem. But he was Cam Newton.
“For me, his personality is the biggest we’ve ever seen in a quarterback. I’m talking historically. We’ve never seen this. His aura, his sheer physical size, he’s a huge human, who is highly capable of imposing his physical will on defensive ways we’ve never ever seen.

“And because of that, he needs to be Cam. ‘The Patriot Way’ has to be more of ‘The Cam Way’ if he’s going to be the Cam Newton of 2015, which a lot of people expect.”

He continued, “You can’t tell him not to be yourself anymore. Maybe that we’ve entered into a new realm here. Post-Brady, this was the Patriot way.

“And to me, you gotta have to mellow enough to allow it to be the Cam way. And I don’t mean that in a bad way, I mean that in a great way.”
Cam is the post-Brady solution for New England
No one can deny that Cam Newton brings a lot of experience and a winning attitude to the side. That is what the Patriots are looking for. Even more so, following Brady’s departure.

Now, they would definitely want to make Stidham ready to start in the future. But as of now, they are willing to bet on Newton.
