Andy Reid has done well to turn Kansas City Chiefs into a formidable offensive unit over the last 2 years. The emergence of the enigmatic Patrick Mahomes has also helped the Chiefs establish themselves as one of the most fearsome teams in the league.

They are currently on an 8-1 record at this stage of the season and are on track to retain the Super Bowl title. But will they be able to maintain this form in the post-season? Here’s what a certain former NFL Hall of Famer said about the same.

Kurt Warner labels the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs as best in the AFC

Former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner was asked to give his opinion as to which team is the best in the AFC. Of course, Mike Tomlin’s Pittsburgh Steelers are the only unbeaten team in the league this season.

But Warner believes another AFC franchise deserves the title of ‘best team’. “I believe the Chiefs are the best team in the AFC and we know that it’s an offensive driven league.

“It’s a quarterback-driven league. So it starts with the best quarterback in the National Football League, and that’s Patrick Mahomes.

“But then beyond that, it’s the weapons they have on the outside, Michael and I showed it last week, the one-two punch of Tyreek Hill, who is maybe the most dangerous player in the league with the complement of Travis Kelce underneath and his ability to be a mismatch every time out.

“Adding the young running back in Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and they’ve got ways to beat you offensively with so many different weapons,” Warner said on the show.

Warner heaps praise on reigning Super Bowl MVP Pat Mahomes

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is on fire this season. The 2018 NFL MVP threw for 2,600+ yards with 25 passing TDs over the course of his last 9 outings in the league.

Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner believes that Mahomes is the ‘difference maker’ in Missouri. “And Patrick Mahomes, we know is the ultimate difference-maker. You’re never out of a game with Patrick Mahomes.

“And you’re one quarter from blowing a game out against anybody in the National Football League with him. And so my opinion is that Chiefs are the best team in the AFC,” Warner concluded.

The Chiefs are currently on a bye-week. The reigning Super Bowl champions will go up against the Derek Carr-led Las Vegas Raiders when they return in Week 11.

The Raiders are the only team to beat the Chiefs this season. Will Patrick Mahomes and his teammates get their revenge? Watch this space for more.
