The Browns picked up Mayfield first overall in the 2018 NFL draft. But after a couple of good seasons at Cleveland, his relationship with the franchise soured. And after the 2021 season, they decided to part ways. But how did he do after the trade to the Panthers?
Mayfield’s time in Carolina
Baker Mayfield came into the Panthers’ offense with an air of optimism around him. But that quickly faded after the team lost four of their first five games, including Mayfield’s old team, the Browns. The bad run of form led to the dismissal of the Panthers’ head coach Matt Rhule. But QB’s misery didn’t end there.

Mayfield picked up an injury in week six and lost his starting place to backup QB PJ Walker. After spending the next two games on the bench, he came back into the team during a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The QB started one more game for the Panthers, but never really managed to be at home with the offense.
Mayfield has thrown 1,313 yards of passing this season with six touchdown passes. But he also has six interceptions to his name and a 1-5 record as a starter. Who will pick him up to give him a chance to redeem himself?
