With Coach Sanders’ support, Mathieu found himself propelled in the right direction, eventually achieving a remarkable feat. He has always been vocal about his appreciation for Coach Sanders, and most recently, he expressed the same gratitude towards another coach who joined him in impactful community work.

The former Super Bowl champ is involved in a wonderful initiative that focuses on the betterment of youth. Now in its 6th edition, their annual camp has been a tremendous success, with the help of several coaches around the industry.

300 local youths participated in Mathieu’s initiative

Mathieu’s Heart of Badger football skills camp, now in its sixth iteration, achieved tremendous success thanks to the overwhelming support from the community and coaches across the country. The presence of former Saints cornerbacks Delvin Breaux and Patrick Robinson, along with current cornerback Alontae Taylor, added to the event’s significance as they led drills throughout the day. Organizing such a grand event was undoubtedly challenging, making every bit of assistance valuable to Mathieu.

Once the camp concluded, a coach expressed his gratitude on Instagram by sharing a group photo with all the coaches and volunteers. In his post, he wrote, “Huge shout out to all the coaches who gave of their time to make this camp happen!! Much appreciated gentlemen!” He tagged Mathieu and other organizations involved in making the event a reality. This heartfelt gesture caught the attention of the Saints’ safety, prompting him to share it on his Instagram story.
