Seattle Seahawks players Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner are not just teammates, but are good friends off the field as well. So when Wagner celebrated his 30th birthday, Wilson was right there to wish him. The two came up the ranks together during the 2012 NFL draft, and many experts wrote them off.

In Wilson’s words, everyone gave them an “F Grade”, but they have gone on to prove their doubters wrong. That year, Wagner was drafted at No. 47 overall, while Wilson was drafted at No. 75 overall. What didn’t work in their favor was the fact that they went up against the likes of Bruce Irvin, Robert Turbin, Jeremy Lane and J. R. Sweezy.

Why does the throwback of Russell Wilson matter?

Back in 2012, many teams passed on the duo and picked who they thought were better alternatives. Clearly, Wilson still harbors a grudge and has brought up the matter several times.

Apparently, one of the biggest complaints against Wilson was that he was not tall enough to be a top-notch quarterback. Besides that, his style of play was not suited for the NFL. In fact, some advised a career change to baseball, where he was a fourth round pick.

Obviously, Russell Wilson did not take the criticism lying down and set out to prove his critics wrong. Suffice to say, he has now become a major force to reckon with and earned the biggest payday for a quarterback in league history.

Wilson is well-known for being genial in nature, but it would be imprudent to say that he is over it. So, the 31-year-old took to Twitter to vent and let rub his success in his critics faces. In addition to that, he is eager to let Bobby Wagner share the spoils of his taunting, as he was also wronged.
