“They Know Their Coach Had Hits”: Prime Time Deion Sanders Jokes About Whether His Players Are Aware of His ‘Popular Rap Career’

Prime Time Deion Sanders has been a complete all-rounder. He has mesmerized people on and off the field. Despite his rocking performances in the gridiron, he has also made sick hip hop tracks that have got everyone rolling. But it might not be something the younger generation is familiar with. 

Deion Sanders had a pretty extraordinary career as a football player. During his 14 seasons as an NFL player, he won two Super Bowl titles, named eight times a Pro Bowler, six First-Team All-Pro, and one NFL DPOY in 1994. After retiring from professional football, Prime Time explored the realms of coaching jobs. As of now, he is the first head coach of Jackson State to lead the team to an 11 win season.

Prime Time Deion Sanders talks about his rap career

Coach Prime recently made an entertaining appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. During his conversation the talk show host Fallon asked if any of his players know about his “a brief rap career”. He replied“They know their coach had hits.” But then he corrected himself and said, “hitss,” this time with an extra ‘s’.

They laughed hard on that note, but then Jimmy surprisingly pulled out a CD of Prime Time Deion Sanders, a record album. Jimmy exclaimed that he bought it and ‘Must Be The Money’ was his jam. But then, when the host revealed he had a clip up his sleeve of that song, Sanders exclaimed “Uh, Oh,” with a shy look on his face.

Prime Time must be a very interesting coach among his young college players. However, he is certainly the lucky one who has lived his life to the fullest. He said, “God allowed me to live out all my dreams. And you got to understand, every athlete wants to be an entertainer, and every entertainer wants to be somewhat of an athlete.”

He is certainly a role model to the young players, and many do look up to him for inspiration. And what better inspiration one can get than living life king size just like Deion Sanders.
