As per NBC New York, a misfortune occurred to an NJ family after 12-year-old Elijah Jordon Brown-Garcia went to football practice. But he collapsed and became unresponsive while running some drills. Elijah’s brother, Mekhi, revealed there was no contact, and he ran nearly 20 yards. Unfortunately, the coach was not around for a while, and no one conducted CPR.

Damar Hamlin expressed condolences while administering CPR Importance

Damar Hamlin responded to the reports while posting a screen-grab of the news on Twitter. He mentioned, “Thinking of Elijah Jordon Brown-Garcia today. Prayers out to his parents & family. I’m making it my mission to make sure everyone knows CPR.”

Hamlin and Elijah went through similar situations while on the field. However, the startling fact was that the 12-year-old went through no-contact drills and suddenly collapsed. The Bills’ safety had an entire medical staff around him, while young Elijah did not, as none of the coaches were CPR certified. According to the Brown family, Elijah could have been alive if someone in training had known CPR.
