Discipline and motivation, along with a rigid schedule, help these players be at the peak of their physical fitness and performance on the field. Each player has a unique workout routine to follow depending on the position they play. But if there is one thing that is common in their workouts, it is lifting weights. And recently New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas is going viral for his insane lifting skills.
The 30-year-old has been injury prone the past few seasons. He missed the 2021 season because of a serious ankle injury he suffered in 2020. He made a strong comeback in the last season, catching 16 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns in the first three games. But he then suffered a season-ending toe injury. But while Thomas surpasses Mahomes in terms of lifting weight, he is still no match for this Chicago Bears safety, who has an insane beast-like strength and record.
The ultimate NFL beast
Bears safety Andrew Billings is argued to be one of the top three strongest players of all time in the NFL. The 28-year-old was drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, before signing a one-year deal with the Bears this offseason. Billings has incredible strength, and he also broke the 22-year-old Texas school record for weightlifting back in college. Andrew Billings did a squat of 805 pounds, a bench press of 500 pounds, and a deadlift of 705 pounds. In total, he managed to lift almost around 2,010 pounds while breaking WWE legend Mark Henry’s state powerlifting record! Lifting such heavy weights is no joke, and it also requires years of hard work to build such strength to achieve such a feat.
