The injury to Dak Prescott could hurt the Dallas Cowboys harder than they might have anticipated. In the absence of the 27-year-old, veteran quarterback Andy Dalton started on Monday night against Kyler Murray’s Arizona Cardinals.
However, things did not go as per plan for the home team as they fell to a 10-38 loss to the Cardinals. One person who came under scrutiny was Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott.

After another sub-par display on Monday night, Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was subjected to widespread criticism. The seasoned NFL running back admitted that he was to blame for their Cardinals loss.
“I don’t think we can use [Prescott being gone] as an excuse. I’m just going to keep saying it over and over – I started the game out with two fumbles, gave the ball away and gave them all the momentum they need to go take off.

“We didn’t play very well on offense, defense or special teams. Most importantly, I didn’t coach very well. I have a continuing issue with ball security on my football team,” McCarthy told The Athletic.
The Jerry Jones-owned franchise face an uphill task, in Dak Prescott’s absence, the Cowboys will only find it harder to make the Playoffs this season.
