In a recent incident, the NFL world saw a punt return almost leading to a disastrous injury to a receiver. The visuals of the incident confirm it happened during the College Football Weekend. The video went viral, and a few users urged the NFL community to give priority to the safety of the players.
A fan said slide tackles are definitely an issue.
Based on the comments soccer is the most dangerous sport ever due to slide tackles. How more people don't die from these barbaric maneuvers is amazing. I wonder if entire towns have been destroyed by these slide tackles in south America

Another user said reckless tackles could end careers.
Y’all don’t get it. A reckless tackle like that literally can be career ending. A broken leg can take a year to heal not including rehab. The players are never the same after it happens in terms of mentality and performance.

A fan added NFL should go for stricter punishments.
A user asked what is the need for slide tackles.
In a game where you can’t get “sent off” in the sense that your team has less players afterwards, I have no idea why there aren’t more trips, slide tackles in the nfl. Much easier to take down a player who is getting away from you.

A fan said this action would have invited stricter punishment.
Would have been red carded in soccer though

When Aaron Rodgers suffered a concussion in 2010
During the NFL Super Bowl LVI, the health and safety team issued a call of action. Their immediate move was in response to increased injuries, especially on punts. As per league data, the injuries that occurred on punt plays increased by over 50 percent in the last two years.

In 2010, Aaron Rodgers suffered a concussion during a helmet-to-helmet hit. It led him to sit out of the next game. A-Rod has been vocal about the player safety issues. He once opposed the league competition committee’s proposal to move extra-point tries from the 2-yard line to the 15-yard line for player safety. The 38-year-old said it goes against the league’s stance on player safety. Several Twitter users echoed their views on the safety of the players.
A user pointed the demands of the game are leading to injuries.
But would have analysts saying he has to be smarter and less of a liability but his aggression and toughness sparks the team and makes star players think twice when they have the ball on their feet

Another user said the player saved a touchdown.
Good move on his part. Saved a touchdown. Take the penalty every time

This user spoke about hybrid football.
Imagine hybrid football and soccer, red card and they gota play with 10 rest of the game, would it b worth it ?
— Pino (@Pin0snkrs) October 1, 2022
Another fan wrote about the punishment for such tackles.
It would have been a red card don’t get me wrong, but it’s amazing how many people are freaking out. You know they are the same people who don’t watch soccer but call it soft, when they don’t realize things like this happen.
— Eric J. Alves (@Eric_Alves87) October 1, 2022
A fan turned off the TV after watching the incident.
Turned off the TV immediately after this. Only time I ever go across the pond (literally or figuratively) is to hit the red lamp district and fight some demons in a gritty Dutch broad
