Dave arrived in Jacksonville in 2013 but only registered 1 winning season in his 8 years with the franchise. That came in 2017 when he was joined by Tom Coughlin in the front office.

Dave put together a win-loss record of 39-87 as the GM of the Jaguars. Now, Khan and his team of advisors are on the hunt for his successor.

Three potential candidates to replace Dave Caldwell in Jacksonville

Mike Borgonzi, Director of Football Operations, Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are known to produce top-class General Managers, as is evident in recent times. First, it was Chris Ballard who got a shot at the GM job with Indianapolis Colts.

Then it was Brett Veach who got an in-house promotion to GM. Now, Borgonzi is expected to follow suit. We expect his name to pop up in forthcoming rumors.

Eric DeCosta, Assistant General Manager, Baltimore Ravens

Probably the most experienced name on this list, DeCosta has been associated with the NFL since 1996. A former college Director and a Director of Player Personnel, DeCosta is popularly recognized as one of the major reasons behind the Baltimore Ravens’ double Super Bowl success in the last two decades.

He is now expected to make the jump to a higher role in order to bring his vision to his new franchise.

Omar Khan, Director of Business and Football Administration, Pittsburgh Steelers

Omar Khan had earlier tried out for the New York Jets GM job. However, he lost out to Joe Douglas. But reports from within the NFL fraternity state that it is only a matter of time before Khan makes the jump to General Manager.

With the Jaguars looking to bring about a major change in their organization, Khan could emerge as a potential contender for the vacant position.
