Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has dual skills of throwing and rushing. The entire league is aware of his prowess in both aspects of the game. Hence, defenses always have to remain alert to a sudden rush by the youngster. NFL superstar Tom Brady laid down a challenge to the sophomore quarterback to try and one-up him in a race. However, there was a minor catch.

Tom Brady lays down an amusing challenge to Lamar Jackson

The veteran quarterback who was in his 20th NFL season with the New England Patriots tweeted, “Me vs Lamar, 40 Yard Dash on natural grass but he has to wear rollerblades. Who’s buying the PPV?”

Fans, analysts, and the media were quick to pounce on this and approached Jackson for a response following the Ravens 42-21 demolition of New York Jets.

Jackson looked amused by the challenge and responded, “He’s probably going to win that race. Rollerblades on grass? Aw, man, I’m going to see what I can do. Tom’s still got a little bit in him. I’ve seen him.”

While the duo hasn’t raced, fans may be sure about the outcome. This is because Brady is not known for his rushing game whatsoever and he will be up against a player 20 years his junior who set a record for most rushing yards in a season by a quarterback.

Brady’s highest rushing yards (110) came in 2002 when he was 25-years old. The 6x Super Bowl winner has rushed for a measly 1,037 yards in 285 regular-season games. In 41 playoff games he has rushed 100 yards.

Jackson has already surpassed both of Brady’s rushing stats. He has 1,901 yards in 31 regular-season games and 197 yards in 2 postseason fixtures.

Also, Brady has never recorded a 40-yard dash in under 5 seconds. He is playing with fire here and it’ll be really interesting to see if Jackson ever takes him up on his offer. It seems unlikely though as roller blades on grass could be dangerous and derail the youngster’s career.
