The Buccaneers vs. Saints game was a big-time matchup, and the intensity among athletes is worth noting. Tampa Bay steered the victory over New Orleans, which ignites one of the NFL’s most trailblazing rivalries. However, Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore stormed into a banter. After the game, Evans had some words over the scuffle with Lattimore, and he did it for Tom Brady.

Things flared up during the fourth quarter as Tom Brady and Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore traded barbs. After the play, Brady spoke with Lattimore, who responded with a contemptuous gesture. Before Leonard Fournette pushed Lattimore, TB12 shouted back. Mike Evans, who was on his way to the sidelines, ran to the scene and knocked Lattimore to the ground. As the situation progressed, chaos followed, and both sides tumbled into the heap.

Mike Evans opened up after the scuffle

Mike Evans said, “We’re in new Orleans. It gets spicy sometimes, got a little heat in the scuffle. Glad nobody got hurt, and glad our guys responded.” When the reporter asked what is it about him and Lattimore, he added, “We’re competitive. But today, he was just a little too emotional. You don’t throw punches at guys on the field, and I think he threw a punch at Lenny and pushed Tom or something like that. I just can’t let that happen to my teammates, so i just shoved them and then it turned into a brawl.”

The NFC South is well-known for the ferocity of its clashes. One of the best examples is the Buccaneers and Saints. Tom Brady and company responded to the altercation by winning 17-7 in the final quarter.

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers are now running undefeated since the season began. They will now face the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.

Evans and Lattimore have a rich history of animosity

Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore’s scuffle was quite the spectacle to observe on live TV. However, both athletes have a long history of having a brawl on the playing turf. Back when Jameis Winston was in Tampa, he had to leave a play because of a throwing shoulder injury. But he came off the sidelines to gesture and appeared to smack talk CB Lattimore, who was a rookie.

Winston inadvertently poked Lattimore on the back of the helmet as he walked away. Lattimore shifted his weight and shoved Winston by one arm. Mike Evans then appeared out of thin air and leapt into Lattimore’s back, knocking him hard and dropping him down, face-first. However, they did not eject Evans from the game.
