The superstar quarterback will play one of the most career-defining games of his life on Sunday. 27-year-old Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will face their forever rival Joe Burrow in a cut-throat matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The game has become so competitive that even the City Halls are beefing with each other.

Although the Super Bowl-winning QB sprained his high ankle, which made his status unclear, elite veteran quarterbacks like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers express their trust in him. Additionally, the two veterans spoke separately about his strengths and what he should do on Sunday.

Brady said, “I respect him as a leader.” He loved that the Chiefs’ young quarterback is as enthusiastic about football as one should be.

Patrick Mahomes’ ability to continue playing after spraining his high ankle against the Jacksonville Jaguars impressed the 15-time Pro Bowl pick. He also found it commendable that Mahomes wanted to return to the field even after coach Andy Reid told him not to. For Tom, it is important to give it all to the game. And that is precisely what Mahomes did.

He said on ‘The Pat McAfee Show‘, “Anybody talking about — oh, he’s not going to play this week — you’re talking about Pat Mahomes. Pat’s going to play. He’s going to play, and I think he’s going to play really well.” What Mahomes can do to play even better is not scramble.

According to Rodgers, Mahomes is a spectacular QB in the pocket and at other positions as well. “He’s become an excellent pocket passer…you gotta be excellent in the pocket.”
