This revelation brought a sigh of relief among the Raiders fans as they were proved correct. Surprisingly, this was the year when young Tom Brady clinched his first Super Bowl title for the Patriots marking his presence as a successful quarterback.

For the Las Vegas Raiders and the then Oakland Raiders “tuck rule game” was always a fumble. On Monday, Taking to Twitter, Tom Brady admitted that it may have been a fumble. Brady said, “The Tuck Rule game against the Raiders,” then looked around as if to make sure no one was listening, adding, “might have been a fumble.”

The 44-year-old quarterback then backtracked the quote and captioned it in the video. “I said might. Such a tough call. No choice but to respect the officials’ probably correct decision.” Brady tweeted along with the clip. Instantly, the Raiders responded to the Tweet and said, “Knew it“.

What happened with Tom Brady during the game?

This infamous game dates back to 2002, specifically the 2001 AFC divisional game of the New England Patriots against the Oakland Raiders. The then young quarterback Tom Brady was just into the second year of his rookie contract when the incident happened, to make it one of the most controversial games in recent NFL history: The Tuck Rule play.

The Foxboro stadium was completely covered with snow, and the Patriots were hosting the away team in the AFC divisional round. The Raiders’ defensive back tackled Tom Brady, causing the ball to land on the ground.

After the incident got reviewed, the officials were convinced that Brady was in a throwing motion and he was attempting to “tuck” the ball towards his body. As a result, it was declared an incomplete pass, and Brady kept the ball to himself.
