Tom Brady Compares Joe Burrow to Legendary NFL Quarterbacks: ‘Peyton Manning Had An Incredible Streak Against For His Neck Injury’

Tom Brady recently heaped praises for the Cincinnati star quarterback Joe Burrow for his toughness. Burrow has clearly shown incredible durability throughout the season, even though playing after an ACL injury. However, his leadership and the ability to absorb big hits have really made him a standout performer this season.
Burrow has been the most sacked quarterback this regular season with 51 sacks, yet he shook it off and made plays week in and week out. And that is something that veteran quarterback Tom Brady pointed out. He was clearly very impressed by the 25-year-old and also commended him for his toughness.

Brady during his recent appearance in the Let’s Go! Podcast revealed that “some of the great qualities in quarterbacks is toughness.” He mentioned how the toughness of a quarterback really increases the morale of the team, and “the team gains a lot of confidence” looking at their QB returning to play every time.

Brady pointed out that the Cincy quarterback has some exceptional qualities which make him an even better player. The 44-year-old quarterback even compared Burrow with legendary quarterbacks who also had similar traits. Firstly, he admired Brett Favre, on how he “stayed in the pocket, in and out of the pocket, but made play after play, and was as tough as they come.”

Then he talked about how “Peyton Manning had an incredible streak against his neck injury.” Furthermore, he also mentioned Jimmy Garoppolo playing the game against the Rams this weekend despite having “banged his thumb up really badly,” and also how Matthew Stafford, over the course of his career, has had a lot of injuries but “he’s really toughed it out.”
