As Tom Brady has hung up his cleats, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking forward to a replacement that could fit in his shoes. That retirement announcement has led to Brady missing out on the opportunity to star in his first game in Germany, which is scheduled for the 2022 season.

According to Sports Business Journal, “the Buccaneers will be the home team in the NFL’s first regular-season game in Germany.” Since the fixtures are yet to be announced the opponents and the dates are will be revealed by early to mid-May.

Is Tom Brady missing the chance to throw the first TD pass in Germany?
It’s been four weeks that Tom Brady has announced his retirement, but the NFL is already exploring rumors of his return. But as of now, there seems to be no progression if the veteran quarterback has any intentions to come back to the league. If he had stuck to the Bucs, the seven-time Super Bowl winner could have become the first QB to throw a touchdown pass in Germany.

However, the offer still stands, and the Bucs are eager to wait for the GOAT to his return. The franchise is not expected to commit to any star quarterback and will stick to second-tier QBs such as Kyle Trask and Blaine Gabbert, leaving room for Tom Brady.

NFL’s first game in Germany
This will be the first NFL game played in Germany, and the Bucs are one of the four teams with home territory marketing rights there. The other three teams are the Chiefs, Patriots, and the Panthers. In 17 regular-season games, the Bucs are scheduled for nine games at home including one in Germany.
The NFL will make an official announcement on the said fixture on Monday. There will be a total of five international games played in the 2022 regular season. Other than the one in Germany, one will be played in Mexico City, two in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, and one in Wembley Stadium London hosted by the Jaguars.

Although it’s hard to say if Brady will represent the Buccaneers in NFL’s first game in Germany. However, hopes are still on the table. And it will be seen if he makes a return ahead of the regular season or not.
