The league has received a lot of backlash on social media and fans taking to Twitter to express their dissent. Fans were backing Tom Brady for the award. The discussion was dominated by the legitimacy of the decision and about the basis of awarding the winner.

The response online is quite unanimous, and almost all responses refuse to give Rodgers his credit. It is understandable the divide and support that the other candidates are receiving. But respect needs to be placed on one of the most talented QBs in the game. Despite the overwhelming dissent on social media, all the nominees and the winner deserve recognition for their spectacular individual seasons.
