Tom Brady has been playing with the feelings of the football fans this offseason. First, he broke everyone’s heart by announcing his departure from the field for good. Despite the legendary quarterback saying he was done, many fans did not want to believe it. It seems like their prayers were answered because recently, the GOAT has announced his comeback.

The past few weeks have been a rollercoaster of emotions for the fans. When Brady announced his retirement, some opportunist fans decided to hop on the bandwagon and get their hands on some memorabilia. Some people got good deals. But one particular individual might not be too pleased with Brady’s return. Just one day before the athlete un-retired, a fan paid a hefty price for his supposedly final touchdown pass ball.

Brady’s “last” touchdown pass

The last time we saw Tom Brady on the field was in January. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced off against the eventual Super Bowl champions, the Los Angeles Rams. Both sides locked horns in the NFC Divisional Playoff game at Raymond stadium. The Rams won the game, of course, with a score of 27-30.

The matchup was very close and action-packed. Both the teams gave it their all. But in the end, it was the Rams who triumphed. Brady had a decent showing too. The Buccaneers quarterback threw for 329 yards. He was intercepted once and scored a touchdown. Later in the fourth quarter, Brady threw a deep pass towards Mike Evans. Evans carried it to the end zone and got the Bucs 6 more points.

After the GOAT announced his retirement, there was a spike in search of Tom Brady items online. Everyone wanted to get their hands on some Brady memorabilia. One fan was after the QB’s final touchdown pass ball. He won an auction for the supposed final TD ball. It cost the fan more than $518,000. 

Tom Brady tries to make it up to the fan

Just a day after the $518,000 purchase was made, Tom Brady announced his return to the field. What was supposed to be his final career pass, is now just his final 2021 season pass. We know Terrific Tom is going to throw a few more TDs next season.

To make it up to the fan, Brady asked FTX for help. FTX is a digital trading platform. The athlete made a tweet saying, “Could we donate a Bitcoin to the charity of this person’s choice?!” A Bitcoin might give the fan some comfort after spending over $500,000.
