Tom Brady gets a day off for his 44th birthday

Despite turning 44, Tom Brady has not lost his competitive edge. Aiming for Super Bowl ring #8, the quarterback has been grinding it out at training camp to make sure he’s well prepared for what should be the Bucs’ most difficult season yet.

But on his birthday, even the team decided to give the GOAT a day off. Brady turned 44 on Tuesday, making him one of the oldest active athlete to play in the 2021 NFL season.

And what better way to say thank you to the quarterback than giving him a day off to be with his family and loved ones on his birthday.

“We will throw him a bone and give him a day off,” said Bucs Head Coach Bruce Arians when asked what plans the side had for Brady’s birthday.

Arians is know to be a head coach who prioritizes in giving his staff and players the personal time they need off the field. He even has something known as ‘maintenance day’ where players are allowed once in a while to skip practice and focus on keeping themselves in the best mental and physical shape possible.

“It is amazing the fire that burns in him that makes him do this,” said Arians when talking about the Buccaneers QB. “There is nobody out there competing any harder than him so it is awesome.”
