The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are struggling this season. The 2020 champions have failed to take off this year with lukewarm performances. And to add to their woes, they might lose their prized asset, legendary QB, Tom Brady. The rumors about the departure of Brady have been doing rounds all year and now an NFL analyst has called these reports accurate.

Brady joined the Buccaneers after the 2019 season and won a Super Bowl with them in his first year. Losing him will certainly be a big blow to the franchise.

The Tom Brady blow

The Buccaneers have had a mixed season so far. They have won some crunch games but have largely struggled against almost every opposition. NFL analyst Michael Lombardi pointed out the pain points for Tampa. Lombardi said that the Bucs team is struggling with their run game, resulting in Brady throwing more than 45 passes a game. And that is hurting the team. He also said that the Buccaneers don’t play on Brady’s strength, and he might not be there for them next season.

“There was a report the other day that Brady won’t be back with Tampa Bay. I don’t know who reported it, but I would say, without a doubt, that is probably accurate,” Lombardi said.

Brady has never had a losing season in his career, with his previous worst being a 9-7 overall record with the New England Patriots in 2002. He was still relatively new to the league back then. With seven losses already this season, one more loss would give the legendary QB a record he doesn’t want.

The Buccaneers’ struggles

The 2022 season started on a bright note for the Buccaneers, with the team registering two wins in their first two games. But it has gone downhill ever since. Tampa won just four of the next 11 games and is struggling with a 6-7 overall record at the end of week 13.

While the defense has largely held on to keep the franchise in the hunt during the games, the offense has not taken off at all. And that is showing in the performance of their QB, the legendary Tom Brady. Brady is still in the top five in the NFL in passing yardage this season with 3,585 yards thrown. He also has thrown just five interceptions in 13 games, one of the lowest in the league. But he has thrown just 17 touchdowns so far this season. And with the Buccaneers struggling with their running game, the opposing teams seem to have figured out a way to keep the seven-time Super Bowl champion QB out of the end zone.

The Buccaneers are still at the top of the NFC South division. But that can change quickly if they don’t post more wins. But if Brady does leave the Buccaneers, where will he play next?
