The host asked why he was paid less and not more compared to other passers in the league. The quarterback made a witty response, saying that pay doesn’t matter to him because his wife earned more, and allowing her to become the main bread earner of the family.

“I think the thing I’ve always felt for me in my life, winning has been a priority. And my wife makes a lot of money. I’m a little smarter than you think.” Brady said on the show.

Well, it was clearly a joke, and Brady didn’t mean it while responding to the question. It was a masterstroke by the master himself to manage the franchise’s salary cap. Brady very well knows that if one person carries a large salary, then other guys will have to compromise on their pay which eventually leads to poor quality in the recruitment of players.
