Tom Brady Once Opened Up About His Friendship With Donald Trump: “He Became Someone Who Would Come Up to Our Game and Stand on the Sideline”

Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady has a celebrity status, and he keeps making the headlines even after parting ways from the gridiron. Given his status, he has a great reputation among the big stars and high-profile people.

Back in the 2000s, Tom Brady and Donald Trump have been good friends, and both have been public about it. Both entities used to praise each other and attended exhibits jointly. However, this appears to not last for long, and the quarterback seems to have parted ways with the business mogul.

What could possibly cause a detachment in the friendship between them?

The Tom Brady-Donald Trump alliance

Brady and Trump have been wonderful mates from their first introduction in 2001 when the billionaire entrepreneur asked the quarterback to board a Miss USA pageant. Brady expresses his adoration for Donald Trump in a SiriusXM interview with Howard Stern in 2020.

He stated, “He became someone who would come up to our games and stand on the sideline and would cheer for the Patriots. He always had a way of connecting with people and still does.”

Trump was once seen appreciating Brady’s company. He became so smitten with Brady that he was having hopes for him and his then-unmarried daughter, Ivanka Trump, to get married.

What went wrong?

According to Yahoo! Sports, Jonathan Martin wrote in his book “This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future” mentioning Trump’s statement, ‘The football star had not been the same.’ Their contact eroded after Brady wedded supermodel Gisele Bundchen in 2005, and he started pursuing a stringent diet plan.

Brady’s eating habits are fully recognized. Meanwhile, Trump is said to be a sumptuous patron of McDonald’s and other fast-food joints. Tom’s decision to make a stretch between both entities can also be an attempt to sidestep politics.

Although, during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ White House visit, the quarterback seemed to have cracked a quip regarding Donald Trump.

Even though seemingly the fouling relations between both entities are rather unfortunate, there’s a possibility that both may still be in terms. Brady seems to just keep his distance and wants to avoid getting involved in any political drama and continues to enjoy a retired lifestyle.
