The 2020 NFL season was a peculiar one for multiple reasons. The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in major complications for teams across the league. Players opted out, pre-season games were canceled, the 2020 NFL Draft was held online for the very first time and of course, weekly testing for players and staff.

But one team that grabbed eyeballs throughout the regular season was Mike Tomlin-led Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger, who missed a majority of the 2019 season through injury, led the AFC North old boys to a massive 11-0 record last year.

The Steelers were in line to end their regular season campaign without a single loss. The only team to achieve that feat was Tom Brady and the New England Patriots back in 2007.

However, it wasn’t meant to be. Pittsburgh suffered a 23-17 defeat to NFC East strugglers, Washington Football Team, in Week 12. But they came close to doing the unthinkable.

We can’t help but wonder, can any team repeat a similar regular season run in 2021?

Bow down to the kings. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are leading contenders to end the 2021 NFL regular season as ‘invincibles’. After all, the man has done it before and if last season was any proof, he certainly can do it again.

The Buccaneers have managed to retain all the starters from their Super Bowl LV win over Kansas City Chiefs. They also made positive moves in the recently concluded draft. The Bucs boast a strong defense, under the leadership of DC Todd Bowles.

Brady will get better in time playing under coach Arians’ fast-paced offense. Is it going to be back-to-back Super Bowl wins for Mr. NFL himself?

  • Kansas City Chiefs

Just like a phoenix, the Chiefs are primed to rise from the ashes. After winning the Super Bowl in 2019, there were talks of building a dynasty in Missouri at the start of last season. Patrick Mahomes and Co. were favorites to win their second consecutive Lombardi before the Bucs crashed the party.

But they’ve worked on their roster this summer. Coach Andy Reid and GM Brett Veach have managed to restructure the Chiefs offensive line while working on a tight budget. They boast a strong offense with enough depth to make up for any unforeseen injuries.

It’s time to run-it-back for KC.

  • Los Angeles Rams

This one is a surprise pick. But hear us out for once. Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams boast the NFL’s best defense with superstars Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey as their standout performers. Bringing in a proven quarterback like Matthew Stafford almost guarantees the Rams a spot in the playoffs.

But they could it one step further and remain unbeaten. Although, we find that task a bit tough considering the level of competition in the NFC West. But hey, never say never right?
