Tom Brady and his retirement decision are short-lived. All the theories and speculation for a Brady comeback have come true; The quarterback announces his comeback to the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His retirement lasted for just 6 weeks. When the 44-year-old quarterback announced his retirement on February 1, he put an end to a brilliant 22-year career. However, it looks like Tom left some gas in the tank for a few more seasons.

When Brady announced his departure from the NFL, he expressed his intention of spending more time with his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, and three kids. But now, Tom Brady will join the Bucs for his 3rd season with the franchise.

A Mega Comeback by Tom Brady

On Twitter and Instagram, the seven-time Super Bowl champion revealed his decision, stating that he has “unfinished business.” However, Brady’s announcement may not sound surprising considering that he announced just a week into his retirement and said he would ‘never say never’ about returning to football.

He stated, “These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa.”

Tom Brady’s comeback comes on the verge of NFL free agency when the Buccaneers will be up against it to retain all of their free agents. With the Bucs currently $11 million over the salary cap, tight end Rob Gronkowski, center Ryan Jensen, right guard Alex Cappa, cornerback Carlton Davis, running back Leonard Fournette, safety Jordan Whitehead, defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh, and outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul are set to become unrestricted free agents.

Brady has the most throwing yards (84,520) and touchdowns (624) in the NFL’s history. He is the first player to win over five Super Bowls and is a five-time MVP of the game. The quarterback went to the Pro Bowl 15 times and earned three NFL MVP awards and is also named to the first-team All-Pro three times. He has a regular-season record of 243-73 and a postseason record of 35-12, and he is returning to enhance on those accomplishments.
